Enzo J. Sella, M.D. is Board Certified in Orthopaedics and Certified by the American Board of Independent Medical Examiners (ABIME). An associate of Connecticut Orthopaedic Specialists, P.C., Dr. Sella's area of expertise includes Foot & Ankle Surgery, Spine and General Orthopaedics. He is an attending surgeon at Yale-New Haven Hospital, Hospital of St. Raphael, Milford Hospital and Co-director of the Yale-New Haven Hospital Foot Clinic.
Dr. Sella graduated Cum Laude while earning his B.S. degree at Fairfield University, Fairfield, CT and earned his M.D. degree from Stritch School of Medicine, Loyola University, Chicago, Illinois. He completed his intern year at St. Vincent's Hospital & Medical Center, New York City, New York, and then served as a U.S. Air Force Captain, General Medical Officer Division. He earned his general surgery residency at the Hospital of St. Raphael, followed by an orthopaedic residency at Yale-New Haven Hospital.
Recognized as a leader in the field of orthopaedics, the following medical organizations have awarded Dr. Sella the prestigious title "Fellow": the American College of Surgeons, American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, American College of Spine Surgeons, and The American Orthopaedic Foot Society. Additional professional memberships/affiliations include the American Medical Association, New Haven Medical Association, North American Spine Study Society, Eastern Orthopaedic Association and the New England Spine Study Group.
An accomplished speaker, Dr. Sella has lectured on a variety of topics ranging from "Back Disability"to "Common Conditions of the Foot." He has presented for the National Association of Orthopaedic Nurses, the New England Back Testing and Rehabilitation, Traveler's Insurance Company, Yale-New Haven Hospital, Grand Rounds and the University of Connecticut School of Medicine. The 1992 recipient of the Teacher of the Year Award, Yale-New Haven Hospital, Dr. Sella is an Associate Clinical Professor, Yale University School of Medicine, Dept. of Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation. Dr. Sella has spoke at national meetings of the Americang Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) and the American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society (AOFAS).
Dr. Sella's articles and research papers have appeared in Connecticut Medicine, Foot and Ankle, Orthopaedic Review, Orthopedics and Foot & Ankle International. He has also been quoted in textbooks such as the Disorders of the Foot and Ankle, Surgery of the Foot and Ankle and Pediatric Orthopaedics.
Dr. Sella is a resident of Branford, CT. He enjoys opera, golf and boating.
